Ingredients
Vanilla Bean Frosting
Instructions
Cookies
  1. Using your kitchenmaid or other mixer, cream butter and sugar together and whip until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and mix one at a time until incorporated.
  3. Add flavorings and mix thoroughly.
  4. In a separate bowl mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Mix into butter and sugar mixture 1/2 cup at a time, just until incorporated. Do not over mix.
  5. Chill dough one hour or more.
  6. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  7. Roll dough 1/8″ thick on lightly floured surface.
  8. Cut into shapes with desired cookie cutters.
  9. Place on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake 6-8 minutes or until cookies are a light golden color.
  11. Cool and remove onto drying racks until ready to decorate.
Frosting
  1. Using your kitchenmaid or other mixer, cream butter and 1/2 cup powdered together until fluffy.
  2. Add vanilla and cream and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add remaining powdered sugar carefully until incorporated.
  4. Speed up mixer and whip frosting for 2-3 minutes to introduce air until it brightens in white color and appears fluffy.
  5. Add food coloring if desired, then frost cooled cookies one at a time. Enjoy!
